HIGH SPIRITS: Local youngsters celebrated the opening of a £250,000 nursery extension at Surrey Square Infants' School in Southwark on Tuesday this week.

Undeterred by the rain and wind, the 50 helium balloons that should have been released outside were sent flying inside the nursery.

The Aylesbury New Deal for Communities contributed £150,000 to the cost of the nursery, with the remainder coming from the single regeneration budget and the local council.
