Fast-growing Hill International has continued its acquisition spree by buying claims and delay analysis firm Pickavance Consulting, which has offices in London and Hong Kong.

The deal will see Pickavance founder and chairman Keith Pickavance join Hill as senior vice president – his colleagues Michelle Metz, from Hong Kong, David Richards and Geoff Bewsey will also join the Hill fold. Richards and Bewsey recently came to Pickavance from KPMG, where they led the firm’s engineering and construction disputes practice.

Pickavance himself founded the firm in 1996 and is an expert witness who has advised and testified in construction projects around the world. He is the author of Delay and Disruption in Construction Contracts. “Our combination with Hill is a natural fit,” he said. “Together we provide a formidable combination of skills, resources and excellence to our clients.”

Hill expects to close the deal at the end of the year and did not reveal the specific terms of the transaction.

Hill senior vice president Renny Borhan described Pickavance as a firm with a “first-class track record” and “extensive international experience”.

“The acquisition will significantly strengthen and broaden our capabilities and resources in the UK as well as in the Asia Pacific region,” he added.
