Hoare Lea Consulting Engineers has been appointed to BAA's second generation framework.
BAA has selected design consultants such as architects, building services engineers and structural engineers to work on its capital investment programme. This will run for the next five years.

The new agreements cover work on BAAs seven UK airports, though not Heathrow's Terminal 5.

The government's Aviation White Paper outlined a great deal of expansion in UK air travel capacity. The proposals include two new runways at Stansted by 2012; an additional runway for Birmingham airport; additional terminal capacity for Manchester; and substantial development of Glasgow airport.

Other appointments to the second generation framework are Foster & Partners, Amec and WSP Buildings.
