The head of one of Britain's leading social housing groups has lambasted housing associations for their failure to attend the Urban Summit last week
Malcolm Levi, chief executive of Home Group, said: "The social housing sector talks about the importance of regeneration and how we should play our part, but when it comes to attending and participating in what must have been the most important conference of 2002, hardly anyone turns up. I doubt if there were more than 20 [housing association representatives] on the delegate list."
According to a source, the absence of RSL representatives from the conference "has been noted by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister".
