The first order for Homesafe’s new range of FD60 fire doors has been placed by Renfrewshire Council to match more than 7,500 Homesafe composite doors already fitted in the area. The fire doors will be installed in three-storey blocks of flats as part of Phases 3 and 4 of the Council’s Window & Door Renewal Project.

Commenting for Homesafe, sales director John Adams says the company has been involved with the Renewal Project from the very start, after its doors were specified for a pilot scheme.

‘Very soon we were supplying 120 doors a week and at one point, the quantity increased to 200 doors a week.’ He says, adding that the fire door order wasn’t a complete surprise, as Homesafe had Renfrewshire Council firmly in mind when developing the new one-hour door.

Homesafe FD60 and FD30 fire doors have been tested in accordance with BS 476 Part 22 and certified by Chiltern International Fire.

All Homesafe composite doors are also guaranteed for ten years and feature a maintenance-free finish and the added security of multi-point locking.
