The New Year kicks off with a series of new training courses for installers.
Honeywell will host free training courses for installers and end users through to the end of February. Courses last from half a day to three days, and include Foundation CCTV Training, Foundation DVR Training, Microsphere for Installers, Honeywell TCP/IP, People Counter Training, VideoBloX for Installers, Systems Training, and a Control Room Operators Course.

Tavcom Training, in cooperation with Gardiner Security, has scheduled a series of one day training programmes on European standards, EN50131 for alarm systems personnel.
Tavcom says "delegates will receive practical help, assistance and all the guidance necessary to satisfy the directives of European Standard EN 50131 (PD6662:2004)”.
Formal certification will be available to those who successfully complete an accreditation and assessment process which will include a written knowledge check.
The courses, which will be presented at a variety of locations throughout the UK during 2006, are suitable for those with previous experience in system design, specification preparation, risk assessment, installation practices and maintenance practices.

Bewator has also launched a range of professional development training courses. These are designed "to offer delegates a rare insight into the technical and visionary security industry from one of Europe's leading security providers".
Courses will initially be available for engineers, with future programmes planned for distributors, end-users and specifiers. The courses will be headed up by training manager Adam Findlay, along with Ray Hawkins, Andrew McDonald, Clive Crew and Dean Woodyatt.
The courses for engineers will include training on Bewator Granta, Visilynx V3i, Digital Video Systems, Bewator Solaris, and Bewator Entro 5. Primarily run out of Bewator's headquarters in Newport, Wales, the courses will also cover technical integration with other security products from third parties.
