Housing minister Keith Hill paid a visit to the £10.5m regeneration of Leicester's north Braunstone estate on Monday.

He inspected several new homes and opened a public space on the estate. Hill said: “This has turned a neglected area with few community facilities into one that now has a waiting list of applicants who want to live here.” Since work began on the regeneration, 131 job and training opportunities have been created for local residents, and the waiting list for newly refurbished homes has grown to more than 100 people.
