A wide range of people from the housing sector were included in the Queen's birthday honours list last weekend.
Castle Vale Housing Action Trust chair Richard Cox and Sandwell council chief executive Frederick Summers received CBEs for their services to regeneration.

Sadeh Lok housing association chair Balbir Uppal got an OBE for services to his community in Huddersfield, and Local Government Association chief executive Brian Briscoe was knighted for his services to local government.

But the majority of housing-related honours were MBEs. Patricia Harvey, Communities Scotland head of housing management, received one for her services to housing.

Nottingham Regeneration chief executive Stewart Swales was awarded an MBE for his services to the community.

Among the other MBEs for services to housing, homeless people and the community were: Portsmouth Council housing initiatives manager Helen Keats; Joyce McCarter, a member of the Holmewood Estate Executive Committee in Bradford; Elsie Naisbett, tenants' leader on the Studley estate in Stockwell, east London; Stonham Housing Association project worker Rema Slim; Cordale Housing Association chair Archibald Thomson; and Jean Williams, chair of St Matthews Tenants' Association in Leicestershire.
