Housing Today has appointed a 15-strong editorial advisory board
The board members are experts from across the fields of housing, finance, design, planning and construction.

They are:

Clive Barnett

Head of housing finance at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Clive has worked with Royal Bank of Scotland/Natwest for more than 27 years, specialising in corporate lending. For the past 11 years he has provided funding to registered social landlords.

John Belcher

Chief executive of Anchor Trust, the UK’s largest independent provider of housing and social care for older people. Belcher is also chair of the National Housing Federation’s regulation panel. He is a member of several government task groups on elderly people’s issues.

Eamonn Boylan

Strategy director for regeneration at Manchester council. Boylan also led the development of the Manchester and Salford Market Renewal Partnership.

David Curry MP

Conservative minister for local government, housing and urban regeneration 1993-1997. Author of Lobbying Government: A Practical Guide for the Housing Industry and Lobby, published by the Chartered Institute of Housing in 1999.

Roy Irwin

Chief inspector of the Audit Commission. Roy left Bristol council to join the commission as chief inspector in 1999. He is also a member of the Local Government Taskforce board, which is responsible for the development and promotion of Rethinking Construction.

Zara Lamont

Chief executive of the Confederation of Construction Clients, which is responsible for the Construction Clients’ Charter.

Gerard Lemos

Partner at social research and analysis group Lemos & Crane. The leader of Lemos & Crane’s research team, Lemos has written numerous reports and books. He is also an audit commissioner.

Anthony Mayer

Chief executive of the Greater London Authority. Mayer was chief executive and board member of the Housing Corporation, 1991-2000.

Phil Morgan

Chief executive of the Tenant Participation Advisory Service. Morgan has previously been assistant director at the Centre for Local Economic Strategies and head of operations at the Northwest Development Agency.

Tom Murtha

Group chief executive of Keynote Housing Group. Murtha joined Keynote in 2001, having worked at subsidiary Midland Area Housing Association since 1996. He chairs the Birmingham Social Housing Partnership and is a founder board member of the Handsworth Area Regeneration Trust.

Leroy Phillips

Chair of Hexagon Housing Association. Phillips chaired 2001’s race and housing inquiry, which was backed by the Housing Corporation, the Commission for Racial Equality, the National Housing Federation and the Federation of Black Housing Organisations.

Jon Rouse

Chief executive of the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, the government’s architecture champion for England. He was previously secretary to the Urban Task Force and communications manager at English Partnerships.

Ann Santry

Chief executive of Sovereign Housing Association. Santry joined Sovereign in 1999, moving over from Swaythling Housing Society where she was also chief executive.

David Thompson

Housing director at Birmingham council. Thompson played a key role in setting up Birmingham’s social housing commission after tenants’ rejection of stock transfer earlier this year.

Barbara Thorndick

Chief executive of West Kent Housing Association. Thorndick has been in her post at West Kent for almost 18 months.
