The BSIA was delighted to welcome His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent to IFSEC 2004 as Patron of the BSIA's Export Council.
Prince Michael attended a reception at the International Visitors' Lounge and then visited the stands of no less than 20 BSIA member companies – in the process eliciting a feel for the breadth of products and services available.

"The Prince's visit was a great success," commented Stephen Adams, the BSIA's marketing and export services director. "As the Patron of the Export Council, he was genuinely interested in the services offered by members, and was equally impressed with the links the Association is forging with countries right across the globe."

This year's IFSEC also saw the presentation of the Security Industry Export Awards 2004, sponsored by the BSIA in association with CMP Information (publisher of SMT). Advanced Perimeter Systems won 'Exporter of the Year' for demonstrating a consistently improving export performance. In addition, the 'New Exporter of the Year' Award was won by Network Video Technologies.
