The single largest wind farm in the UK has opened in Wales.
The £3.5 million development marks the start of a massive investment project that hopes to maximise the country's abundance of natural energy resources.

The farm, built in Parc Cynog, has five 720 kW turbines and produces enough power to supply over 4000 homes. It is the first wind farm to be built in Wales for two years.

A further £35 million has been set aside for a development at Cefn Croes, which will be the largest single wind farm in the UK. It will produce a massive 58·5 MW of power and will result in expected savings of 150 000 tonnes of carbon dioxide.

The combined power of the two projects will be enough to supply over 40 000 homes.
