THE LATEST NEWS AND OPINIONS ON A range of relevant security issues will be discussed at IFSEC & Security Solutions.
Organiser CMP Information has unveiled the subjects of the complimentary seminar programme in the Business Development Zone.
Highlights include:
- Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is an increasingly important tool for security and crime-fighting. ANPR technology has enjoyed rapid take-up, having made the transition from an expensive cumbersome tool to a reliable easily-deployed part of many security systems. In its session "Advanced Automatic Number Plate Recognition" PIPS Technology examines the basic principles and applications of ANPR.
- CEM presents "Biometrics: A review of effectiveness", looking at different ways biometrics can be deployed in an aviation environment. The presentation reviews which biometric technologies have so far been deployed and analyses how successful they have been from a user's perspective.
- In its presentation on "Emergency Response Communications" Com-Care uses the platform to introduce its Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS). It is claimed to be the only system on the market where a wristwatch houses both the microphone and the speaker, allowing true two-way conversation.
- Using real life examples, Nice Systems' session "Video Analytics" will outline how content analysis, combined with massive recording capabilities, is being increasingly used to enhance the effectiveness of security in high-risk operations.
- In a further session on biometrics, but this time in relation to border control, Irco examines the growing use of biometrics applications at national border crossings. It will seek to explain the differences between biometric technologies together with the advantages and disadvantages of each in an access control context.
