Faithful & Gould has clinched a deal to provide a web-based system to help Imperial College London carry out a £358m capital works programme over the next four years.

The project execution procedures system aims to improve project assurance and certainty by introducing staged gate reviews as well as risk and value management for the client, which runs the UK’s largest educational estate.

The system allows total transparency at all stages of developments, F&G said.

“All consultants and contractors on the Imperial College framework agreement are complying with the procedures laid down, which encompass all aspects of project management from procurement and specifying through to construction to handover and end user feedback,” claimed the firm. Academic staff also have full access to the system, ensuring that users of the new facilities are kept in the loop.

F&G has also created a system to monitor the performance of the system it’s built for the university. The performance measurement system uses a series of key performance indicators to create a benchmark.

  • F&G has won a role on the high profile project to revamp Edinburgh’s historic street and shopping centre, Princes Street.

The firm is to provide cost consultancy to AM Development, a developer assisting in the review of potential retail-led regeneration opportunities for the area.

The Princes Street project, led by Edinburgh City Centre Management, involves the selective redevelopment of various retail blocks over ten years.

The scheme aims to boost retail space on Princes Street and Rose Street and to enhance adjoining streets by improving access to upper floors and back lanes.
