A £400 million shopping centre is growing from a revamp of Birmingham's Bull Ring.
Birmingham will soon be a mecca for dedicated shoppers if the latest changes to the city are any indication of the future.

The first phase of a regeneration project to transform the city's Bull Ring into a 21st century shopping centre is now complete.

In this phase a purpose-built indoor market was created. Drake & Scull acted as m&e contractor, completing the £2.7 million contract over a 15 month period. This included the installation and commissioning of lighting throughout both the market and a 900 space car park. Also included were standby generators, emergency lighting and alarm systems. The mechanical package included water services, drainage, heating and ventilation.

The 110 000 m2 scheme is due for completion in Autumn 2003 and will include three main shopping levels with over 100 retail units.
