Fitness fans at University College London have a new facility to look forward to, with the construction of a swimming pool underway.

M&E contractor EIC is combining its experience in the leisure and education sectors to undertake the design and build work. The pool is being created in the extension of an existing building and the university will remain fully operational during construction work.

In a £900 000 contract awarded by main contractor Galliford Try, EIC is designing m&e services for the pool that will give a seamless link into the existing m&e systems.

Work is scheduled to complete by October 2006.
