New organisation Be wants to create a strong construction industry which offers value for clients
The Design and Build Foundation has merged with the Reading Construction Forum to form a new organisation: Collaborating for the Built Environment, or Be.

This has created the UK's largest independent organisation for companies across the whole supply chain.

Richard Saxon, chairman of Be, outlined the organisation's vision for the future: "We will be the champions for a better built environment – so it's natural we are called Be. We will strive for a strong industry that delivers exceptional value for clients, no matter the size or experience of that client – a proactive industry that leads by example."

Be's members include over 20 clients, 30 main contractors, 30 designers and other consultants and 15 specialist product suppliers.

Plans are to grow the organisation to 150 members over the next two years, while maintaining a balance across the supply chain. For more information on Be log on to www.beonline.co.uk
