Alongside the National Infrastructure Plan 2011 the Government published for the first time a detailed public and private sector infrastructure investment pipeline.

By publishing this pipeline the Government aims to provide industry with the certainty and transparency they require, and a greater understanding of the future pipeline of government funded projects, as well as private sector infrastructure.

The pipeline data is designed to provide a sense of the scale of investment that is expected but should not be taken as a commitment to undertake the projects in each and every case.

The Government committed in the Spending Round 2013 to update the infrastructure investment pipeline. The pipeline is currently being refreshed in line with this commitment. It will be made available in spreadsheet form on Data.Gov. An updated National infrastructure Plan will be published at the time of the Autumn Statement and will include a more comprehensive update of the pipeline.
