Lincolnshire Police chief constable Richard Childs – the ACPO lead on alarms and alarm response – has officially 'switched on' one of the security industry's most sophisticated Alarm Receiving Centres (ARC), recently devised and constructed by Initial Monitoring in Burnley.

Over 100 officers will operate around the clock to monitor over 100,000 end user sites across the UK, including retail outlets, factories, warehouses and offices. The operators are able to control CCTV cameras, listen-in to live audio by way of on-site microphones and monitor fire and intruder alarms.
