The ABSENCE OF LICENSING FOR security installers is one of the concerns that has sparked the BSIA into establishing a working party to look at issues in the Private Security Industry Bill.
The main concerns are the lack of mandatory inspection of security companies; The absence of licensing for in house security officers, in-house CCTV monitoring staff and alarm installers. Other concerns are for: "a fair and efficient system of retrospective licensing so that companies aren't disadvantaged"; confirmation that cash-in transit personnel are included; and the high estimated cost of a license.

The BSIA is making its views known to the Security Industry Authority.
