Gardiner Security has begun working with and promoting installers with recognised specialised skill sets for network system surveillance installation, giving them the status of Gardiner Security Network Video Integration Partners (NVIPs).
“The market is now at the point where network integrators and specialists are asked by their IT contacts to add a video solution into their core business,” Gardiner said. “The convergence model includes voice, data and video, with video images being moved around the LAN/WAN infrastructure and controlled by IT department staff and budgets.”
Installation companies which are serious about becoming involved in network video solutions can register their interest in the NVIP programme, and Gardiner will discuss it with them.
These companies will be linked into IP training solutions: IP camera training (Axis, Panasonic, Pixord etc); software training (Milestone Vidos NVR); compression training (MJPEG and MPEG 4 technologies); and integration with other security requirements, such as access control and server room monitoring, and structured cabling installations etc.
“These companies will become ‘skilled up’ to offer a true network security solution,” said Gardiner’s integrated systems sales manager Glenn Fletcher. “So when end users request installation costs and solutions, we will link the appropriate NVIPs into the discussion to offer these services.
“Each NVIP will get a unique NVIP number and plaque, and will be treated as a true partner, and not just an account. Our expectations, in return, are for loyalty when purchasing products, etc.”
Fletcher says manufacturers are backing and supporting the programme, as NVIP installers are able to overcome issues that standard security integrators sometimes struggle with.
“We are now also being asked by some end users and technical strategic partners for European NVIPs to work on projects outside the UK, and we are currently assessing this.”
