Group 4 Total Security has become the first security company in the UK to be certificated by the Inspectorate of the Security Industry (ISI) Division of the National Security Inspectorate to ISO 9001:2000.
In its comprehensive quality assessment report, the ISI commended Group 4 for its "high level of management involvement, interest and commitment that was evident throughout".
The ISI feels that the guarding contractor's training standards for security officers are "clearly in excess of the minimum specified for SITO and BS 7499", even stating that "the calibre and knowledge of security officers interviewed on site was second to none".
When questioned about its certification, Group 4 Total Security's managing director Peter Black told SMT: "We've proved we're a leader in the manned guarding sector by being the first major player to achieve accreditation to the new European Quality Standard. It's a great achievement."
