It was with great interest and amusement that I read your article regarding Jarvis’ bad practice in payment policies (EMC, March 2004, p9). We have had a long and hard battle gaining payment over three invoices with Jarvis that has been going on since 2001, one of which is still outstanding and waiting to go to court.

I can not even begin to tell you how many hours I have wasted trying to chase the monies owed, while being fobbed off with the most pathetic of excuses. It really did make me laugh to read that they have not had any complaints brought to their attention and that their average payment period was 42 days when we are presently on 802!

  My warning to other companies is not to even think about getting involved with Jarvis unless you want a long and costly battle on your hands.

I’m sincerely grateful that your publication has brought this matter to the readers’ attention as I find it absolutely appalling that such a large company can treat its subcontractors in such a way.
