Firm offers customers whole-life maintenance and management

Birmingham-based JS Wright has set up a new maintenance and facilities management division.

The move has enabled the 118-year-old company, which won this year’s Mechanical and Electrical Contractor of the Year category at the Building Services Awards, to offer a whole-life service for buildings from design and installation to servicing and repairs.

Instead of having to rely on subcontractors for warranty work or gas boiler commissioning, JS Wright now offers customers faster fault rectification and response times through its in-house engineering team.

Customers from households to the largest commercial and industrial undertakings can also take advantage of the new division for all maintenance, servicing and repair services throughout the entire life of their buildings.

The repair service operates on a 24-hour response basis seven days a week with the help of a rapidly growing van fleet racked out as mobile workshops.

The new division’s services incorporate domestic plumbing; the installation, servicing and maintenance of commercial gas-fired plant and oil-fired boilers and heating appliances; gas pipe work testing and commissioning; and heating, ventilation and air conditioning repairs and maintenance.

Newly appointed divisional manager Jack Coulter said: “JS Wright can now extend the life of any building plant by not only designing and installing its mechanical services, but also providing cover under warranty and ongoing support for both new and existing clients.

“Indeed, in many instances customers will find that our highly trained engineers will have fitted the service themselves, know the building well and already have the drawings on file.”

The eventual aim of the new maintenance division is to provide a full 24-hour 365-day service for general call-outs, preventative maintenance and emergencies.
