I have read with interest the correspondence on measurement, having spotted the flaw in the original quiz answer but not having time or being anorak enough to dig out the tables and calculate the correct answer (my schoolboy mnemonic from the 1950s is Old Harry Sold Antonio His COAT – no idea who Old Harry or Antonio were but the phrase has stuck and been used many times).

The debate on the RICS from a QS viewpoint is long overdue – here in the far west we don’t get much for our large subs other than magazines which are largely irrelevant and remain unread – unlike your publication – keep up the good work!
