This poster was used to launch a Children’s Society campaign calling for a national network of safe accommodation for runaways.
It aims to get 100,000 signatures for its petition: one for each child under 16 who runs away each year. Many who leave home or care have nowhere safe to go and risk becoming one of the 5000 children in the UK involved in prostitution.
The charity wants extra help for 16- to 18-year-olds involved in prostitution who often fall through safety nets. It believes antisocial behaviour orders for child prostitutes are not appropriate.
