Kier Group is merging two of its operations, Kier Managed Services (KMS) and Kier Building Services Engineers (KBSE), into new business Kier Facilities Services.

The business aims to offer facilities services, building maintenance services and building engineering services under a single contract.

The new combined business will have a turnover of around £120m and more than 1,200 staff operating from offices in London, Cardiff, Basingstoke and Sheffield, and is to be headed up by former KMS managing director Colin Hale.

Hale said: “This merger will enable us to provide a truly nationwide service to support clients. The formation of Kier Facilities Services is a significant step in our drive to compete in this marketplace at the highest level.

“KFS is equipped to offer a one-stop solution for the whole life-cycle of clients’ property requirements, from design and installation of building services to long-term care and maintenance of their built environment”
