Contractors will soon be able to select product suppliers based on their benchmark scores in areas such as product quality, delivery and aftersales service.
The Construction Products Association is piloting an initiative to achieve best practice and improve performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).
The initial set of KPIs focus on:
- customer satisfaction – improved product quality through less defects, meeting delivery promises, better customer communication, provision of aftersales service;
- people – health and safety at work, training of operatives/staff;
- environment – waste reduction on site.
The Association is working closely with the DETR on this initiative, which will contribute to achieving the Government's aims of improving the competitiveness of the whole construction industry.
