The building services manufacturing industry has witnessed a spate of mergers.
Woods Air Movement has been sold by the Marconi Corporation to Global Air Movement Holdings, a company formed by Compass Capital Partners.
The £53 million sale will see Compass own 58% of Global with Marconi remaining as a minority shareholder with a 42% interest.
Baxi and Newmond merged in December 2000 to form "Europe's largest domestic heating group".
Among others, the move brings together Potterton, Heatrae Sadia, Santon and Valor. The new company, Baxi Group, has promised to invest £24 million in product innovation every year.
Meanwhile, building controls company SeaChange Controls has been acquired by power generation company Ener.g.
