A new report analysing the financial accounts of 136 key players in the heating and ventilation equipment market confirms a solid financial period between 1997-2000, with stable sales and profits for manufacturers, coupled with good improvement in efficiency ratios and falling debt levels.

Entitled Business ratio – heating & ventilating equipment manufacturers, it reveals how a marginal sales growth of just 1% between 1997/98 and 1998/99 was followed by a bigger growth of 3% between 1998/99 and 1999/2000, leading to a compound sales growth of 2%.

The report shows how compound profit growth stands at 0%, reflecting a turbulent time for the industry over the review period. A fall in growth of 9% between the first and second years of analysis was cancelled out by a positive growth of 11% between the second and third years.
