An opportunity to learn basic locksmithing skills, "which traditionally would have been passed from father to son" is available from T.K. Consultants. This hands-on four-day course teaches practical skills "well in excess" of those covered by the NVQ Level 2 syllabus. No previous experience is required.
You will strip down and rebuild locks to enable you to service and repair them. You will be shown 'how to' and then practise for yourself the various methods of opening locks using an extensive range of locksmith tools and picks. The course also shows how to use key cutting machines properly.
The rapid growth in electronic locking systems such as door entry and access control is discussed in outline.
Free Redcare Sessions
RedCARE realise that attending to customer needs can conflict with training needs, but point out that their training sessions are FREE and that they help to ensure long-term cost saving. Attending a RedCARE training session will enable you to:
- Fit a fault free RedCARE installation, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Identify and recognise faults immediately reducing the amount of time spent on-site.
- Answer any question your customer may have regarding their RedCARE installation.
A typical agenda would include: signalling methods available; a detailed look at how RedCARE signals are transmitted; explanation of the Network architecture; how to install a STU; and hands-on fault-finding.
Red CARE training is available at: Bathgate, Belfast, Bristol, Coventry, Horsham, Leeds, London and Manchester.
