Videoswitch, which is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary in business, now manufactures non-PC based digital video recorders, along with keyboards, real-time screen splitters and switchers. Illustrating how digital recording has advanced over recent years, the multiplexers, cameras, monitors and telemetry equipment that the company built its business on are now listed on its website as ‘legacy’ products - available “while stocks last”.

Looking back on its evolution since 1984, Hampshire-based Videoswitch says it was the first supplier to build two removable hard drives into its DVRs to allow for upgrades and servicing without the need to remove a unit from site. It also claims to have been the first manufacturer to include, as standard, a built-in CD writer in all its DVRs.
