Cooper Lighting and Security has launched a range of gold or chrome finished exit signs, designed for prestigious locations. The Safe Edge and Recessed Safe Edge lines have a viewing distance of 27 m. Safe Edge is a compact luminaire that can be mounted at any angle. It is easy to install on walls or ceilings, and can be used in maintained or non-maintained mode.
Recessed Safe Edge operates in maintained mode, and is suitable for mounting in solid or suspended ceilings. Also designed with ease of installation in mind, it features a separate baseplate to which the body of the luminaire is attached after the supply cables have been connected.
Absolutely miniature
Fibre optic lighting specialist Absolute Action has introduced a miniaturised version of its Articulate system.
The new line is claimed to be 30% smaller than the original and was developed as a lighting solution for a private museum where over 200 cases had to be lit with unobtrusive fixtures.
The miniature kit comprises brass rods and connecting pieces which give the designer flexibility to set the fibre optic outputs at accurate angles and interchangeable focusing lens heads.
In parallel with this product, Absolute Action has also developed a new track system that is just one third the size of the original and intended to increase the accessibility of fibre optic lighting solutions.
The track is manufactured from extruded aluminium and can be used for retail and display lighting as well as domestic applications due to the ability to conceal it in door frames and cabinet mullions.
Luxo in bed
Carelite from Luxo Vega is an energy saving and low maintenance luminaire which is part of the company's range of specialist medical lighting solutions. Carelite is a bedhead luminaire available in two colour combinations. Using reflector technology it provides precise, dimmable light direction that can be used with 13 W, 18 W or 60 W fluorescent lamps, or 40 W incandescent lamps. The light source can be individually positioned, using its spring balanced arm, and it has an ergonomic handle with integrated illuminated pilot switch.
Corner light
Fitzgerald Lighting has added the Linear Saturn to its portfolio of products. The luminaire is designed to be mounted in the intersection of two walls, ie the corner of a room or staircase, and creates a subtle two way lighting effect while taking only a minimal amount of wall space.
The Saturn Linear comes with 24 W, 36 W 40 W or 55 W PLL lamps and most versions are available with integral emergency packs.
Led by Thorn
Thorn Lighting has added to its range of small recessed luminaires with the E/Fact LED range.
The leds used in the range produce light in five colours: white, blue, green, red and yellow. The luminaires are available in round or square versions, with two frame options, aluminium or steel. Also a choice of led mounting gives either a uniform or dotted pattern on the glass surface, and a selection of curved front or flat surfaces.
The E/Fact range is suitable for shopping centres, hotels and cinemas. The lights are discreet so provide signalling and guidance for internal and external areas without detracting from their surroundings. All are sealed to IP67 and constructed of die-cast aluminium with polypropylene housings.
