Environmental Lighting has launched an updated version of its Cache Bathroom low voltage downlight. Based on the company's previous water resistant downlight it is designed for high moisture environments such as swimming pools, saunas, washrooms and bathrooms. The unit is also suitable for mounting into potentially flammable surfaces.
The company's own three-spring mounting system enables the light to be used on ceilings between 5 mm and 50 mm deep and also allows for quick and easy maintenance as well as lamp replacement.
The IP43 rated housing provides a consistent airflow to reduce heat build-up and prolong lamp life. The unit is also supplied with a double wound, noise-free transformer.
Highline lamps
BLV has added the GU10/GZ10 Highline lamp to its range of MR16 lamps. Suitable for use in hotels, restaurants, offices and commercial areas the the lamps are available in 50 W, 25° and 50° beam angle.
The GU10 base lamps have an aluminium coating on the reflector which helps prevent heat build-up to the rear, while the GZ10 has a dichroic coating which diverts about 66% of the heat to the rear.
The clear, uv protecting, flush fitting cover allows the lamps to operate in open fixtures. The dimmable lamps can also operate on mains voltage without the use of a transformer.
Hanging around
Louis Polsen Lighting A/S has introduced the Toldbod glass pendant. Made from three layers of blown opalised glass, the Toldbod glass pendant is distinguished by its functional design and simplicity.
The new glass pendant gives a soft, comfortable light. It is designed for both domestic and commercial use. The pendant comes in two sizes with diameters of 155 mm and 222 mm. Toldbod is fitted with a 230 V halogen lamp, thus dispensing with a transformer.
The Torus sign
Concorde Marlin has extended its Torus FX range with the Torus 100FXi remote controlled spotlights, developed using wireless radio-wave technology. Designed for use on Lytespan 3 track types, these independent fittings can be remotely dimmed and switched by a wireless hand-held or wall-mounted unit. Each unit can programme scenes and operate individual or group fittings.
Flexible friend
Flex Connectors has added coloured plugs and sockets to its flex 7 range of lighting components. The range is suitable for schemes where emergency fittings or other special connection characteristics need to be indicated.
Flex 7 plugs are rated at 16 A and supplied with seven pins, pre-wired or unwired with three, four, five or six core cable, and seven core to special order.
