Exterior angle lighting system
Sill Lighting UK has introduced the Boulevard exterior lighting system. Designed around a combination of exterior projectors and extruded aluminium mounting poles the system is suitable for use around shopping centres, airports and landscaped areas.

Two lengths of lengths of mounting pole are available, one for use with the 440 Series plane projector and heights up to 7 m, and one for use with the 442 Series plane projector and heights up to 16 m.

The optics of the plane projectors are similar to those in Sill's normal range. Both versions have integral control gear and can accommodate high pressure sodium and metal halide lamps from 35 W to 400 W.

Modular lighting control
Tridonic Atco has recently launched the modularDIM lighting control system for use in applications such as offices, sports halls, supermarkets and warehouses. Claiming energy savings of up to 75%, the basic modularDIM module has an operating voltage of 120-277V and has been designed to control up to three lighting groups individually or together as one group, while allowing for the connection of standard presence detectors.

If lighting scenes are to be stored and recalled, the modularDIM SC scene module can be added, therefore allowing the user to set up to four light scenes – this can be done by the customer at a later date.

Designed for daylight control, the modularDIM DM daylight module enables the programming of daylight dependency for three channels. ModularDIM provides the optimum solution for the adjustment light and lighting levels to suit individual needs. Digital ballasts and transformers are supplied with a logarithmic dimming curve that has been developed to match the sensitivity of the human eye, providing perfect light modulation from 1% to 100%.

On right track
Environmental Lighting has launched the Track Lite range. The Track Lite system is based around the company's slimline track, which can be cut to the exact length required for each installation. The track has pre-drilled fixing holes for easy installation and an optional wire kit allows it to be suspended from high ceilings. Straight couplings plus flexible and fixed right angle connectors allow an endless variety of track layouts to be created. The Track Lite range is compatible with dimmers and is designed to meet BS 3535.

Check it out
Emergency Lighting Products has introduced the ELP DigiCheck static inverter for providing emergency lighting for one to three hours at 230 Vac. The wall-mounted system features an automatic self-test function which checks lighting load and battery monitoring for over voltage and under voltage on a weekly or monthly basis. An alarm sounds if there is a problem and a display indicates the reason for failure.

The digital microprocessor control gives accurate temperature compensated charging to help provide maximum battery life.

Domestic bliss
JCL has launched the FlexiDim domestic lighting control system. The system allows any of the lights in the home to be controlled from any of the switches, and controls fluorescent and neon lights as well as low voltage halogen and conventional tungsten lights.

Each system controls up to 128 programmable lighting channels, 128 switches and 1000 user-defined preset lighting scenes – which offer full control over lighting transition times, brightness levels and can include any number of the lights.

Switches fit into standard 35 mm wall-boxes with each plate having a choice of four or eight scene buttons plus on/off and manual dimming. Switch plates are 2 mm thick and come in a range of finishes including brush stainless steel.

Wall sockets and optically isolated switches can be incorporated into the system along with the mains relay module which allows non-dimmable lights or appliances such as extractor fans to be incorporated.

The system also features an activity recorder which stores data on the lighting activity in the house which can be played back during periods of absence, providing a realistic security feature.

More Amenity

Urbis Lighting has added the Amenity lantern to its product line-up. The design comes in two mounting arrangements, with a mounting height of 6 m to 12 m, and is suitable for retail parks, external car parks and open areas. The 800 mm diameter two-part aluminium top spinning houses the reflector assembly with optic unit being completed by a spun aluminium transition plate finished in white, with a clear ploycarbonate protector. The design of this assembly enable the lantern to be offered sealed to IP66 and guaranteed for 17 years. The unit incorporates high pressure sodium lamps up to 600 W and can also be painted any RAL colour.
