Philips Lighting has added the CDM-R111 range of lamps to its Master Colour CDM series. Designed for use in the retail sector, the lamps will initially be available in 35 W versions. There will be three beam widths, 8°, 24° and 45° to best suit individual installation requirements. With a colour classification of /830, the Master Colour CDM-R 111 will have a colour rendering index of Ra8>80 and a colour temperature of 3000 K. The CDM-R111 has a peak beam intensity of up to 30 000 cd.
Maintenance has been made as simple as possible by the use of a twist and lock GU8.5 lamp connector developed in coordination with BJB. CDM-R111 incorporates a discretely hidden shatter shield around the discharge vessel in order to allow the lamp to be used in open luminaires without spoiling its appearance.
The Master Colour CDM-R111 is due for availability in April 2003.

Easy does it
The Easyswitch system from Luminite enables users to turn on lights and other devices using either a key fob or a wireless wall switch. The system uses a coding technique with a transmission range of up to 200 m and its location does not need to be determined by the existing wiring runs. Alternatively, the key fob transmitter provides even more flexibility by enabling the lights or other devices to be switched on from anywhere within range. Each transmitter has its own identifying signal. The digital coding, with over 64 000 code combinations, eliminates the possibility of interference with its operation.

Taking a stand
Fitzgerald Lighting has recently launched additions to the DEFA exterior luminaire range. The DEFA Protect and Reflex luminaires are now available with extruded aluminium pole mounting kits. Both are obtainable with circular, square or oval styling and are IP65 rated. The Protect offers a combination of high or low opal diffusers, and the Reflex is designed to provide indirect illumination by concealing the lamp and using a brass colour reflector to create a warm effect. The mounting poles are available in heights of 520 mm or 970 mm.

Minimalist design for Fagerhult latest luminaires
Fagerhult Lighting has launched the Closs and Notor fluorescent luminaires.
Closs is a compact decorative luminaire with a minimalist design which uses a T5 light source. The unit has a cross section of 55 mm x 125 mm for both one and two lamp versions.
Closs is available with a white or alugrey structure enamel finish, while louvre options include the single parabolic Terazza or double parabolic Beta, which are produced in direct or indirect/direct versions.
Notor was originally designed for a specific project to provide accent lighting to footbridges, atria and corridors, while taking up as little space as possible. It is made from a natural anodised aluminium section, measuring 60 mm x 60 mm. Using the T5 lamp, this small section can provide direct or indirect distribution. Both luminaires are available in 29 W, 35 W and 45 W versions.
