The publication includes an updated version for interior lighting. The revised Code takes into account new legislation as well as forthcoming European standards on lighting and ergonomics, and new emphasis on energy efficient lighting.

The Code for lighting offers a fully illustrated guide to the lighting requirements of buildings and their environment, including a guide to lighting equipment.

It provides recommendations on the design of lighting for residential buildings, specific industrial uses, shops, offices, hotels, hospitals and public sector buildings. It also covers emergency, security and display lighting. The CD includes the new Guide to fibre optic and remote source lighting, produced jointly with the Institution of Lighting Engineers. It offers information on the latest technology in types of remote source lighting installations. Also included is a completely revised edition of Lighting Guide 1: industrial lighting. This offers advice on the specific lighting requirements of a range of industries.

In addition, there is the newly updated LIF lamp guide as well as a complete set of currently available LIF technical statements.

For those who find it more convenient to have a printed copy for reference, a reduced printed version, which excludes the appendices and calculation sections is available, and comes packaged with the CD-Rom.
