Chieftain garments have been developed for industrial workers who handle objects with sharp edges, particularly within the glass and automotive industries.
The Chieftain sweatshirt is manufactured using a specifically engineered knitted fabric which uses DuPont Kevlar brand fibres and other materials to give a very high level of cut resistance (EN388:6.2 blade cut resistance level 5) yet maintaining the light weight comfort level required of this type of work garment.
The fabric is knitted in a sandwich construction which, coupled with the combination of yarns and technical fibres used, gives it exceptional cut and tear resistance levels along with good puncture resistance.
Distributors J&K Ross say the sweatshirts are comfortable to wear, are hard-wearing and machine washable. As cut resistant qualities are inherent, they do not deteriorate with washing.
Shirts come with round or V-neck options in natural colour (see picture above) or black, as a special order. Other garments, such as trousers, are also available.
