Living above the shop: A row of Georgian shops and offices in Newcastle have been restored and their upper floors have been converted into maisonettes as part of a £6.6m project. The Grainger Town Partnership, which consists of of Home Group, Newcastle council, English Partnerships, English Heritage, regeneration agency One North East and the Government Office for the North East, turned the upper floors of the shops and a disused warehouse into 125 homes. The completed building was officially opened on Wednesday.
