The group has already produced a draft report which highlights a lack of coordination in research and development support for companies in the environmental sector. It also aims to lobby the Environment Agency to look at the processing of environmental licences or permits – which currently take longer when innovative technologies are used.
Merlin Hyman, EIC Director says: "Innovation is a key to developing solutions to the environmental industry. Without its effective promotion the UK will not be able to exploit the huge market for environmental goods and services, at the core of which is the ETS industry."
The EIC was launched in 1995 and has 225 member companies.
