ADT Fire and Security helped to secure the £182 million luxury cruiseliner 'The World' when it encountered problems with its intruder alarm system while docked at Greenwich on a promotional tour.
International jewellers, Graff Diamonds, which has a boutique on the liner, encountered problems on the ship's arrival in the UK when the team had difficulty setting the store's intruder alarm system.

ADT secures Graff boutiques across London so the store manager rang them for urgent assistance. Engineers Peter Levick and Nad Khan, from ADT's city office, were called in to re-set the system which had been installed by Siemens in Oslo. All the instructions were written in Norwegian, and despite having no former knowledge of the Scandinavian alarm, they were able to decipher it and successfully secure the store.

Peter explained: "We both had experience of working with similar systems so the instructions weren't too much of an enigma."

Graff's group executive, Michael Lemberger, expressed his personal thanks to the company for its swift response.
