I am a relatively new reader of your magazine who has become aware of the huge disparities that exist among different housing associations in terms of how many staff are required to manage them.

I know of one housing association where 300 staff manage 90,000 homes, yet in the North there are places where as many as 350,000 are being managed by the same staffing figures.

This raises the question of whether associations with more managers are actually any more efficient than those with that have fewer.

I wonder whether anyone else has anything to say on this issue – or perhaps is it too politically sensitive a topic for people to become involved?
