Two leading companies in the security industry have come together in an unprecedented move to help less experienced installers onto the first rung of the remote monitoring ladder.
Custodian Monitoring Services and Scantronic are combining to launch an intruder alarm, remote monitoring and digital signalling solution in one integrated easy-to-install package.

The two companies are providing the monitoring, the hardware and the transmission technology to deliver the simple solution in a single package.

Brian Quirk, National Sales and Marketing Manager of Custodian, said they were primarily aiming at the small to medium sized companies and electrical contractors who had limited knowledge of security.

"Installers have all got filing cabinets of bells-only customers," he said. "This solution will help them to get their customers to go for an upgrade."

He said the initiative was designed to make it easier for installers to source the three separate technologies by combining them in a choice of bespoke packages.

"We believe that in doing so we can broaden the appeal of alarm monitoring to installers and electrical contractors who may have previously spurned the idea for being too complicated or simply not worth the hassle."

He said the deal would appeal to companies who were already buying panels with built–in digis but didn't understand monitoring and didn't know where to go for it. The kit was also a good deal for medium sized companies because they would not need to source the panel and monitoring.

The three options available are:

  • Digi-Ready package 9750 panel with on-board digital communicator and chip, remote keypad plus three year monitoring deal with opportunity to upgrade to RedCARE;
  • RedCARE-ready package 9750 with on-board digital communicator and chip, remote keypad for instant digi signalling prior to STU enablement, plus three year monitoring deal, plus on board pre-wired eight channel STU;
  • RedCARE GSM-ready package 9750 with on-board digital communicator, remote keypad for instant digi signalling prior to STU enablement, plus three year monitoring deal and separately boxed GID and STU.
Quirk added that the packages would help to improve standards in the light of ACPO 2000, give customers what they needed and present a new marketing opportunity for installers.

"It's an excellent illustration of the industry working together to bring competitive benefits to all concerned".
