Sir – with the ever-increasing demands on business brought about by compliance and legislation including Sarbanes-Oxley (‘Pull your SOX up’, SMT, August 2005, pp28-30), no organisation is relinquished of the burden imposed upon it to prove the veracity of all decisions taken by management.
In truth, disputes may be easily resolved if reliable and accessible voice recording is employed.
With the acceptance of orders on a verbal basis becoming ever-more commonplace in what is now an increasingly litigious society, voice recording – and, more importantly, the ability to easily produce this evidence – will go a long way towards avoiding disputes and their associated costs.
