... making communities safer
ADT Fire and Security offered security advice when it sponsored a conference for businesses throughout Yorkshire hosted by the Crime Action Group of Safer York Partnership. The programme included workshops, panel presentations and key speakers.
The company sponsored the event as part of its nationwide drive for business and community safety which has so far resulted in ADT giving away 20 patrol cars to local community police and donations to community safety initiatives.
ADT are also sponsoring "Legals at Work", a team of two barristers who are providing a series of training courses on the legal aspects of violence in the workplace.
The team can provide explanations of legal measures and responses that may occur when violence arises. ADT legal consultant, Linda Bazant LL.B, one of the barristers, said where violence occurred it was inevitable the business itself which suffered.
The course provided information on how to prevent such losses, whether they may be through sick leave for the employee involved or expenses incurred as a result of legal action from the incident itself.
