Matthew Lee and Severn Vale Housing Society are found guilty of safety breaches

A plumber and social housing provider have been found guilty of a boiler explosion which killed a Gloucestershire woman and her dog.

Matthew Lee and Severn Vale Housing Society pleaded guilty to safety breaches after an iron boiler exploded behind a fireplace.

Christine Goodall, 65, of Twyning in Tewkesbury was killed along with her dog Kelly.

Gloucester magistrates found the housing society culpable as it had failed to ensure Mrs Goodall's safety at her home.

Lee and Severn Vale will be sentenced on 8 October at Gloucester Crown Court.

Since the accident Severn Vale has visited about 1,700 homes to make sure residents were safe.
