Security managers responsible for high-profile office blocks and other types of corporate high rise buildings should "not overreact" in the wake of the terrorist attack on America.
Instead, they should concentrate on taking "sensible precautions, and ensure that staff are aware of basic security procedures".

That is the message from Mike Gold, managing director of GMS Security and Property Support Services, whose company is responsible for premises in London Docklands and Birmingham.

Gold suggests that UK security professionals make sure all employees know the company evacuation procedures "inside out", as well as the steps necessary during fire drills.

"Practice these drills as often as you can, and make sure you have fire marshals and trained first aid officers on each floor."
