March's manager of the month winner: Stuart's sage advice

One man whose informed choices have left him celebrating is March's Manager of the Month, Stuart Fleet. A member of Anglian Windows' design team at the company's Anson Road site in Norwich, Stuart will now get to enjoy a stay at one of the country's top Marriott Hotel locations.

Stuart's team Top Bunk Bottom Bunk managed to win the March award by one point - with it all coming down to who performed well in the Manchester United game against West Ham at the end of the month.

‘My colleague Gavin Lewin and I picked two teams - one in each of our names - and we help one other to see how each team can gain points in different areas,' says Stuart. ‘While Gavin's team is also doing well, we're happy to have had a success in the Manager of the Month category.

‘Ahead of that final fixture of the month, I had three transfers left to use in the crucial Man. Utd v West Ham game. I listened to every minute of it, working out which Pilkington Fantasy Football teams had which players, who was getting booked, subbed and who had Ruud van Nistelrooy, who scored the only goal. Luckily for me, it worked out just fine!'

Stuart and Gavin are season ticket holders at Norwich City, and while The Canaries only graced the top flight for one season, some of their former stars are still there. His advice to other managers looking to pick up as many points as possible was simple - if a little tongue-in-cheek: ‘Pick as many Sunderland players as you can; it's inevitable that they'll go on a run soon,' he says, with no alternative agenda on his mind. Honest.
