Until recently, the ‘horns’ of vertical sliders had to be made separately before being added to the finished window frame. Although it could be done well, there was always the feeling that it wasn’t quite right – particularly as the horns on original timber sliders were formed continuously with the rest of the frame.
What’s more, a separate horn adds to the complexity of the manufacturing process and doesn’t look as good as ‘the real thing’.
With the addition of the latest manufacturing technology, Masterframe has developed a way to form PVC–U horns continuously. The result? A detail that Masterframe says looks as good as timber – especially when it is combined with Masterframe’s special white foiled woodgrain finish.
Discussing the new combination, Masterframe’s Technical Manager, Ray Rabett says: ‘What’s more, the window hardware on the Bygone Collection comes with the distinctive Bygone branding. If it doesn’t say Bygone, it isn’t Bygone.
‘It’s a constant reassurance to our Bygone installers and their customers that they are getting the BBA approved quality product they expect.’
