Star Refrigeration has launched the Indigochiller, a compact and energy-efficient packaged chiller, developed in direct response to impending F-Gas Regulations.

Designed to minimise potential refrigerant leakage, the unit uses the synthetic refrigerant R134a. It features a welded plate and shell heat exchanger, a sealed expansion valve, welded steel pipework and an oil-free compressor that operates on electromagnetic bearings.

Suitable for medium to large scale process cooling and air conditioning applications, Star's research indicates that the Indigochiller would use only 60% of the energy required by a standard chiller operating on typical load and ambient profiles.
