A Midlands association plans what it claims is the first housing scheme to be physically linked to a college or training centre
Heantun Housing Association's £2.5m Old Hall Street foyer in Wolverhampton will be built next to the town's adult education college.

It is the first major building to get under way in the St John's Village regeneration scheme and is set for completion in January.

The 30-flat development for young people will be decorated with work from the college's arts department, including decorative railings and a courtyard fountain. It will also have an internet cafe open to the public, four large teaching spaces and three seminar rooms which can all be used by the Adult Education Service.

Funding is being provided jointly by regional development agency Advantage West Midlands, the Housing Corporation, Heantun and Wolverhampton council.
